SF3 - FIA 8860-2018 ABP
SCHUBERTH SF3 ABP represents the pinnacle of SCHUBERTH racing helmet technology. A handcrafted masterpiece created to meet the stringent FIA standard on high-end 8860-2018 ABP helmets. The SCHUBERTH SF3 ABP is offered as a tailor-made program, which allows riders to build the helmet according to their own comfort and functionality requirements. The optimal customisation is achieved by our SCHUBERTH technical experts who have worked with the best pilots.
Extremely robust helmet shell made of hybrid carbon and aramid fabric according to aeronautics specifications. The shell made of carbon-based composite materials has been completely transformed, ensuring less air penetration. Despite the hardness of the shell, it is able to remain flexible and absorb and distribute large impact forces. A safe protection that professional, semi-professional or ambitious pilots can rely on.
WEIGHT
In the main motor sports every cent of a second and every gram makes the difference. The new SF3 ABP charges the muscles of the neck by a structure with a weight even lower than that of the very light SF1. Thanks to the development of the new SF3 ABP, Schuberth consolidates its decades of experience in the field of Formula 1. The weight of the helmet is about 1450 grams.
12 VENTILATION CHANNELS ON THE BODY
12 air inlets and 6 vents ensure optimum circulation. The result: 14 litres of air per second at 100 km/h.
In addition to the additional inlets, the air flow inside the helmet has also been optimized thanks to the thin cheek pads. This ensures a constant freshness for the head.
AERODYNAMICS
The inner and outer design of the helmet shell have been developed following extensive tests in wind tunnels on an ideal aerodynamics standard.
Result: SF3 ABP does not generate any propulsion and has a balanced aerodynamic balance thanks to meticulous meticulousness.
Riders can optimize their SF3 ABP as they please with an aerodynamics kit equipped with carbon attachments.
VISOR
The three-millimeter visor is made of robust, impact-resistant polycarbonate in accordance with FIA helmet guidelines. Thanks to the double lens system, the visor is completely anti-fog. The two-level one-way lock is centrally positioned, so that the visor always closes symmetrically and safely.
INTERNAL
The inner shell is made completely from scratch. Thinner cheek padding allows it to be applied. They can be replaced and individually adapted to the different head shapes. Similarly, the new inner lining more effectively isolates riders from engine noise. The channels integrated in the EPS shell for radio communication with boxes are a novelty. The Schuberth inner lining is made of flame-retardant Nomex material, the double D closure for the chin run is made of fire-retardant Kevlar.
THE CUSTOM-MADE SF3 ABP
Each SF3 ABP is hand-crafted with care.
For the most demanding riders it is also possible to make the helmet based on the personalized indications and following the customer’s requests. Thanks to numerous other accessories, the new SF3 ABP Schuberth can be configured according to the different requirements related to sports such as formula, prototypes, GT, touring, kart and rally.
