How much does the precise engine component heat up at that exact point on the track? How much stress do the kart tyres put on when braking? And again, was the preheating addressed in the right way?
Thanks to our thermal camera system for karts, your car will have no secrets: thermal images allow you to see things that are otherwise impossible to observe with the naked eye or with other tools.
This thermography kit consists of 2 thermal camera modules connected to a Control Unit that stores all the data collected. At the end of rehearsals, simply download the videos to your PC to see what and how much it warmed during the laps on the track, with the possibility of correlating the images shown with the exact point on the track where they were shot. You will be able to find out what happens on that stretch of the straight line during braking, how the kart behaves in cornering, and so on.
Thanks to the very small size and weight of the thermal sensors (we are talking about just 3 grams each), it is possible to freely position the thermal cameras to monitor the most different parts of the kart, using straps, double-sided adhesives, velcro or other targeted solutions.
Each Control Unit (equipped with Broadcom BCM2837 processor, Quad-Core Cortex-A53 (ARMv8) 64-bit SoC at 1.2GHz and a 1 GB memory, expandable) can support up to 4 cameras, thanks to the 4 USB 2.0 ports
There is no doubt about the quality of the sensors: we are talking about FLIR modules, the world’s leading brand in the design of thermal cameras. The thermal sensors have a resolution of 160x120 pixels, each of which individually expresses the temperature recorded at a precise point.
No one before TESI has proposed a Kart system of this type, which is therefore an absolute unicum on the karting market and, even more generally, racing: we take data analysis to an exciting new level, for the most demanding teams or drivers!
