Arai CK-6 White is the new helmet for children approved CIK-FIA CMR, mandatory from January 2010, for all young people who are entering the world of motor racing.

The "International Karting Commission", FIA authority (CIK-FIA), has recently updated its regulations recommending that all pilots under the age of 15 use helmets with approvals and adding that this recommendation will become a requirement from January 2010. For pilots aged up to 18 years old it is not mandatory to wear a helmet with CMR approval, although it is strongly recommended; regardless of this, the use of a helmet with SA or K approval is still mandatory.

The Snell-FIA CMR 2016 (Children’s Motorsport Helmet) homologation was developed to ensure that children involved in motorsports can wear a helmet suitable for their physique, rather than one designed for the head (and neck) of an adult, then "reduced" to get a boy’s size. The geometry of the children’s heads is very different, so a simple size reduction of an adult model was not the right solution.

Now the standard accepts only helmets designed for a maximum head circumference of 60 cm, so children with a larger circumference will still have to opt for SA and K approved helmets (ARAI SK6). The CMR standard has also set some maximum weight limits related to the helmet size, where 1300 grams must be the maximum weight of a helmet measuring 57-59 cm with visor mounted and 1100 grams the maximum weight of a helmet of maximum measurement equal to 49 cm always with visor mounted.

Arai, always careful to ensure maximum safety and comfort for all riders and bikers, has developed a specific model of helmet that meets the requirements of the CMR: it is the new CK-6, officially approved by Snell-FIA CMR 2016 and based on the proven technology of the car model GP-6, which has achieved a huge success in the world of auto competitions.

The helmet will be SUPPLIED WITH TRANSPARENT VISOR.

SNELL/FIA CMR 2016 approval, which guarantees MAXIMUM LIGHTNESS.

The CK-6 is the new ultralight helmet for children. The main features are:

  • Ventilation system consisting of 4 in/out ventilation points: 2 large front air inlets (the diameter of the ventilation holes has been increased from 7.8 mm to 10 mm) and 2 large rear ventilation points covered by the DDL Duct air inlets, whose diameter is also increased from 7.8 mm to 10 mm.
  • Visor 2D type F1 with a thickness of 3 mm prepared for the use of tear-off lenses (visor not interchangeable with that of models GP-6 and GP-5).
  • Visor opening extended by 90 mm.
  • Pivot kit with upper pins further implemented for better aerodynamics and mobility of the visor.
  • Outer shell made with SFL (Super Fibre Laminated Construction) technology.
  • Wider opening to make it easier to fit and remove the helmet.
  • Stiffening ribs at the base of the helmet to increase the rigidity of the shell.
  • The exclusive Arai technology allows to create an internal shock-absorbing shell with several different densities in a single element, instead of assembling elements of different densities to obtain the final inner shell.
