The double cooling circuit, combined with the newly developed MAX radiant mass, which allows greater water passage and, therefore, an increase in heat exchange, are the main features of the DOUBLE MAX radiator. The fins are also new, revised in their distribution with respect to the standard radiant mass. At the inlet, the tank has been redesigned in order to direct the water with a homogeneous jet along the radiator, allowing optimal use of all the available radiant mass. Inlet tray and outlet tray share the new curved design.
Aesthetically, the DOUBLE MAX has a front shape identical to that of the BIG MAX: 29 cm wide by 43 cm high. The big difference from the more traditional BIG MAX lies in the revolutionary double cooling circuit. Basically, the DOUBLE MAX radiator is divided into two parts, both inside the upper and lower tanks: the water, entering from above, only hits the innermost part of the radiator (the one closest to the pilot). From there, it falls down through the core receiving a first reduction in temperature. Once it reaches the base, the water rises from the lower tank through an external welded aluminum tube heading towards the second portion of the radiant mass and the second cooling cycle, finally being pushed towards the engine by the work of the water pump.
The internal configuration of the radiator, divided into two zones, made it necessary to provide a hole, in the upper left side looking at the radiator from the front, to vent it easily. Further optimization of air flows is ensured by the standard installation of the rear deflector, capable of diverting hot air from the rear tire and favoring its flow from behind the radiator. In the event of extreme weather conditions, the DOUBLE MAX radiator can be combined with the Supplementary model.
