Spark plugs for racing engines must withstand particularly intense stresses. High rotational speeds, extremely high temperatures and pressures, intense vibrations and considerable temperature changes in the combustion chamber induce such high stresses on the components that a conventional ground electrode could break or melt. For this reason, Racing spark plugs are very often designed without a ground electrode; the spark flows from the center electrode to the inner surface of the metal body on the lower surface of the insulator nose.
In some motoring specialties where good driveability of the vehicle is required, in order to improve the ignition performance of the engine, special racing spark plug designs can be used with a central electrode in Iridium alloy and a small straight ground electrode (slant type). specially designed to minimize the risk of breakage due to vibration.
High quality spark plug that can be used for most single speed/speed engines in all conditions!!
