RIMS SET 115/145 LYNX mini MG OXiTECH Kart Republic

Lynx is the new rim model (which debuted on the market in 2021) from AMV. Realized, like all the other products of the Italian manufacturer, according to a particular low-pressure casting technique, it represents an innovation in the world of karting rims. It is in fact a totally different model from the previous ones, from various points of view.

Lynx rims are made of magnesium, in particular if its alloy is used, called AZ91. The low pressure fusion performed by AMV ensures that the finished product is of high quality, because it allows for greater compactness of the material and eliminates the presence of air in the material itself, an element which would weaken its structure. All this makes it possible to create rims that offer better heat exchange which translates into more constant tire pressure.

Like all AMV magnesium rims, the Lynx are also finished with the OXiTECH treatment: to remedy the oxidation of the rim, usually avoided with chromating (or chromating) which however has a limited duration over time, a particular anodizing was studied plasma electrolyte which further protects the magnesium from corrosion and wear. This process creates, on the surface of the rim, a very thin layer of mineralized and compacted oxide, which also gives greater hardness and resistance.
The innovations introduced with Lynx are mainly due to: the first profile of the tire seat, the second external profile of the rim (tyre side), defined as Super Low Volume. As regards the first aspect, it has been designed to facilitate tire fitting, thanks to a 'softer' design, which facilitates installation. The second point, however, concerns the volume of air that the rim is able to accommodate. As it is a Super Low Volume rim, the Lynx is designed to contain as little quantity as possible, in order to limit the increase in pressure inside the tire to a minimum.
